MUNICIPALITY OF KISSAMOS Full of archaeological sites and monuments, the region of West Kissamos also combines the natural beauty of the sea with numerous beaches from Kasteli to Falasarna, and on the west coast of Crete as far as Elafonisi and Cape Krios. Kasteli, Polyrineia and Falasarna were among the most important towns in ancient times, and a visit to the historical island of Gramvousa with its Venetian castle and the wild beauty of the coast at Balos is an experience not to be missed.
